Appalachian Mountain Health (AMH) is proud to offer a Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) at our Murphy, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) — expanding access to evidence-based treatment for people living with substance use disorders throughout Western North Carolina.
This program is designed for individuals who need a higher level of support than traditional outpatient care but wish to continue their daily routines, including work, school, and family responsibilities while receiving comprehensive, structured treatment.
What the SAIOP Provides
Our SAIOP combines proven therapies, recovery education, and community support to help participants regain stability and independence. Services include:
Individual, Group, and Family Therapy
Personalized counseling and peer support sessions focused on developing insight, healing relationships, and strengthening recovery.Relapse Prevention & Recovery Skills
Evidence-based strategies that teach coping skills, stress management, and relapse prevention.Community Recovery Support
Encouraging participants to build strong, healthy connections within their recovery community.Medication Management Referrals
Coordination with AMH Murphy for medication-assisted treatment and ongoing health management.Comprehensive Primary Care Access
Participants benefit from AMH’s full range of services including Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, and Dental — all under one roof.
