Robert Williams, NP

How many years have you been practicing and where did you graduate from?

I began practicing as a nurse practitioner in 2016. I worked 9+ years for Trinity Medical Group in Winter Haven, FL- mostly with adult/geriatric primary care. I graduated from FL Southern College in Lakeland, FL. Prior to becoming a NP- I was a RN (started in 2001)- specializing in the operating room and endoscopy

What do you enjoy most about serving Appalachian Mountain Health patients here in Western NC?

I enjoy the variety of patients we see the rural healthcare here at Appalachian Mountain Health. I also enjoy the team teamwork approach to our patient care model. We have various specialist providers that lend their expertise, and I utilize them!

What is your approach to patient care?

Be upfront, honest, sincere, and personable. That has been my approach and has worked well in my career.

What is one piece of health advice you find challenging to follow yourself?

Keeping up with preventative care/screenings/labs.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

I love Wing Wednesday at Topoco Lodge. I enjoy breakfast at Deal’s Gap resort.  I also spend a fair amount of time in Maryville/Knoxville where I enjoy the Hot Rod 50s diner and Yummy Kitchen. I have successfully eaten the Big Chubby burger challenge at Hot Rods.

Do you have any special interests?

I love motorcycles and hiking. On weekends/days off- weather permitting- you will likely see me on the bike (Harley) or hiking with my mini schnauzer
