How many years have you been practicing and where did you graduate from?

I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work in 2020. I have worked in a variety of behavioral health roles over the past 15 years.

What do you enjoy most about serving Appalachian Mountain Health patients here in Western NC?

The people in Western North Carolina have a unique sense of community and strong, deep-rooted family connections, which allows for more personalized and meaningful care. I find it especially rewarding to be part of each individual’s journey toward healing and recovery.

What is your approach to patient care?

My approach to patient care is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I believe each patient is the expert in their own life, and my role is to walk alongside them—offering clinical guidance, support, and advocacy without judgment. I strive to create a safe space where patients feel heard, valued, and empowered in their recovery.

What is one piece of health advice you find challenging to follow yourself?

I recognize the importance of balanced nutrition for both physical and mental health; however, with a busy schedule, it can be challenging to consistently prioritize healthy eating over convenience.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

I don’t eat out often, so I don’t have a specific favorite. However, when I do, I enjoy a well-prepared medium-rare steak.

Do you have any special interests?

I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking; and watching all sports and documentaries.
