What do you enjoy most about serving Appalachian Mountain Health patients here in Western NC?

There is a genuine desire from everyone working at AMH to meet the patient where they are and help them in the ways that matter to the patient. I enjoy working with the larger team to meet the patient’s needs and have them feel deeply cared for.

What is your approach to patient care?

I like to get to know patients to understand their circumstances – what motivates them and what is a barrier and then help to problem solve to reach our goals. I like to involve the patient in decision making so they feel apart of the care and plan. I also think that knowledge is power, so I do my best to educate patients and explain the why behind changes to their health care plan.

What is one piece of health advice you find challenging to follow yourself?

Taking time for myself to relax! I seem to find the time to prioritize more obvious health behaviors, but could use more time to decompress.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Nine Mile

Do you have any special interests?

I am an avid reader and enjoy spending time with my kids – especially outdoors. I am an old athlete, so anything that adds some competition or physical exercise is normally up my alley!
