How many years have you been practicing and where did you graduate from?

I graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (now DCG) in 2008. I then had my own private practice in downtown Savannah, GA for the next 14 years before moving up to the mountains 4 years ago.

What do you enjoy most about serving Appalachian Mountain Health patients here in Western NC?

The need is great and it’s satisfying to meet it. But it’s fun too. Robbinsville is an interesting town and there are a lot of colorful characters here!

What is your approach to patient care?

That the least invasive treatment option is generally the right one.

What is one piece of health advice you find challenging to follow yourself?

To get enough sleep.

What is your favorite local restaurant?

Lulu’s on Main in Sylva.

Do you have any special interests?

Travel. I went to Italy last April and, now that my kids are mostly grown, I intend to start travelling more.

What languages are you fluent in?

I’m barely fluent in English and I speak just enough Spanish for native speakers to give me that “Bless Your Heart” look!
